Valley of Keene

The Valley of Keene is made up of Masonic members from 8 Blue Lodges in the South West portion of New Hampshire.  Our valley reaches as far north as Claremont and as far east as Peterborough.  We are made up of two bodies: The Lodge of Perfection and The Council Princes of Jerusalem.  Rose Croix and Consistory degrees are taken in the valley of Nashua.

The Valley of Keene held its annual public installation of the new officers on May 19, 2010. The meal was served by the valley cooks and everyone enjoyed the fine food and service provided.
After all the men and ladies gathered in the lodge room for the public installation ceremony. The Installation team was led by the New Hampshire Deputy Ill \ Brother Elliot. Below is the picture of the head of each of the two bodies that makeup the Valley of Keene which encompassed various lodges in the south west part of the state and from the surrounding area.
The members of Keene were pleased to find that their Deputy Representative has selected Roger T Packard to be their first reception of the newly created Deputy Representative Award. He has spend more than 40 years working in the valley of Keene as the Chairman of the Make-up committee.

The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is the next step in a Brothers Masonic journey. Each degree exemplified in The Lodge of Perfection 4th-14th and The Council Princes of Jerusalem 15th and 16th teaches a moral lesson which each brother applies to his then situation. Each of the 13 degrees teaches a different lesson. Each lesson reminds a Brother of the duties he owes to himself, his family and his community; to be a better Husband, Father, Son, Brother.

As in all of Masonry we hold our meetings in the presence of a Supreme Being. Each brother may pray to a different God, but inside the Lodge we kneel at the altar with "The Volume of Sacred Law" opened upon it. Christian, Jew and Muslim alike pray together in harmony. We love one another within the bounds of Fraternal love, help each other and our Masonic families provided we don’t cause injury to ourselves. We practice Faith, Hope and Charity in our lodges and in our communities. Each one of us strives for moral perfection in our daily lives so that our example may inspire others. Imagine a world where Christian, Jew and Muslim loved one like the other.

Any Master Mason may become a Scottish Rite Mason. If you’re looking for more out of your Masonic Journey look to the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite – The enriching journey of your lifetime.

We are an active organization involving our wives and our children at family oriented events.

Two Historical Degrees, the 15° and 16°, are conferred in a Council of Princes of Jerusalem. They cover the period from B.C. 538 to B.C. 516. These degrees depict events connected with the end of the Babylonian Captivity of Israel, the return of some of the captives to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Temple.
The Valley of Keene, takes great pride, presenting these degrees, in a colorful, interesting and enjoyable manner. Elaborate costumes and fine  portrayal of the contents of these degrees, magnatize candidates interest for a long lasting relationship in the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Keep an eye out for upcoming dates in the State Calendar.

"Scottish Rite Masonry is a fraternal organizations whereby one can further his knowledge of the lessons taught in Ancient Craft Masonry.
Its where a Brother can be heavily involved in its activities or just sit on the sidelines enjoying the many different degrees in a casual rather than highly structured environment.
Its  where leaders can further enhance their organizational skills by learning to Direct and Manage the many activities associated with the craft.
Its also another organization where people with common interest can make new friendships which will last a lifetime."
